Remember that lemon syrup I made last week? We’ve been experimenting with uses for it and so far one of my favorites is Basil-Cucumber-Lemonade. Its tasty and refreshing and is made even better by the fact that we have both basil and cucumbers in abundance right now!
We actually got the idea for this drink when we went out to a local restaurant, Ramsey‘s, and I ordered something similar from their mixed drink menu.
Here is the recipe for Chris’ version.
Basil-Cucumber-Lemonade Recipe
makes one glass
- 3 tablespoons of Lemon Syrup
- 3-4 fresh basil leaves
- 1-2 slices of cucumber
- ice
- water (still or sparkling)
- optional: a shot of vodka
All ingredients can be adjusted to taste or left out completely
Muddle together lemon syrup and basil leaves in the bottom of your glass. Add the rest of your ingredients and stir. To make it special, add a fresh basil leaf as a garnish.
Sounds wonderful!
